The WorkPlace Analytical Accounting interface makes WorkPlace Requisition,
fully compatible with the functionality in Dynamics GP Analytical Accounting.
Dynamics GP Analytical Accounting is a tool that helps you analyze, interpret and create reports
based on charts of accounts without having to create additional general ledger accounts.
You can enter detailed analysis information without resorting to segmental accounting.
You can create budgets using analysis dimensions and compare budget with actual.
You can also define the relationships between the analysis dimensions.
With the WorkPlace Analytical Accounting interface, you can assign Transaction Dimension Codes from Dynamics GP Analytical
Accounting onto requisition line items in WorkPlace, and passed to Dynamics GP when the
purchase order is processed. Based on a requisition line’s GL Account, the rules established
in Analytical Accounting for the appropriate Accounting Class will automatically be
enforced on the requisition before it can be submitted for approval.
When working with WorkPlace GL Distributions only the primary account's Analytical Accounting
information on the requisition line is passed over. WorkPlace Receiving is required when
using GL Distributions with Analytical Accounting.

| When Needed: |
- We have a lot of internal projects for which we would like to keep track of expenses
- Trade show and employee expenses are big expense items for us; we would like to budget these expenses as well as keep track of actual expenses by trade show AND by employee without adding segments to the chart of accounts
- We would like to track maintenance by vehicle so we can decide when to replace our vehicles, but we don't want to add a segment to the chart of accounts to handle this
